Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions and note that you accept these when booking your dog in.

1. Deposits
A deposit of £20 must be paid when making any booking to secure the appointment. If you do not turn up to your appointment without prior notice then the deposit will not be refunded and a new deposit will be required when making a new booking. If more than 48 hrs notice has been given of cancellation then the deposit will be returnable or can be used to secure a new booking.

2.Pricing
Any price given either over the phone, in person or online is an estimate based upon breed standards and correct coat care. If the dog has an unkept/ neglected (matted) coat or far larger than breed standard then additional charges will be applied. Any dogs that have severe behavioural issues will also incur extra charges and the groom may be terminated at any point if the dog or its behaviour is considered dangerous.

3. Health and Medical Conditions/ Concerns
Some procedures used in the grooming salon can be stressful for some dogs, specifically young, senior, overweight or those with medical issues, it is your responsibility as the owner to inform me of anything that could impact the dogs health and wellbeing whilst in my care. Failure to do so may result in extra charges or refusal.
If in the best interest of your dog this agreement gives me permission to seek emergency medical treatment. I will do my best to contact you first, however this may not always be possible. Unless we are deemed to be at fault, all medical expenses are the responsibility of the owner.
Elderly, infirm, overweight or young dogs disclaimer: a full groom can take an excess of 2 hours and can be physically demanding for some dogs. Whilst I will try my best to make every effort to provide support to elderly, infirm, overweight and young dogs, we cant guarantee your dog can adequately support themselves for the duration of the groom which may result in serious health risks. There is also greater risk of other injuries such as cuts and grazes. I reserve the right to stop the grooming process at any time if I feel it is unsafe to continue with payment in full being due at collection of your dog.

4. Vaccinations
By using my services you confirm that your dog is up to date with their annual vaccinations (unless veterinary advise has been given - proof of which needs to be provided) and must be protected against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Canine Parvo Virus. Pawsome Pooches Evesham accepts no responsibility for your dog contracting any of the specified diseases above.

5. Fleas and Ticks
Pawsome Pooches Evesham prides its self on being tick and flea free, however if your dog is known to have a parasitic infestation we will ask that the appointment is postponed until the dog is free from parasites (48 hr notice is required to avoid a cancellation fee). If your dog is found to have fleas during the groom then an extra charge of £15 will be incurred to cover flea shampoo and deep cleaning of the salon and any grooms that may have to be cancelled as a result. If ticks are found during the groom then a tick removal charge will be applied at £3 per tick and Pawsome Pooches will accept no responsibility for any infections that may arise after removal and veterinary treatment may be needed.

6. Coat condition
Here at Pawsome Pooches Evesham will always put your dogs welfare first and if your dog has a coat that hasn't been properly maintained then there are times where we will have to take back the coat and start again - this is in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Whilst we will make every effort to identify if there is an issue with coat at sign in and pre groom check, there may be times when we need to change the groom part way through to suit your dogs needs and we will do our best to contact you to discuss any changes that may need to be made. If we have been unable to make contact then we will proceed with what we believe to be, in our professional opinion, the best course of action for your dog. By agreeing to the terms and conditions you are agreeing to the following statement:
"Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal: - this includes, prolonged de-matting which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog. If you bring in your dog with more than 15 minutes of de-matting work, we are required by the act to clip your dog short humanely or refer you to your vet to do the same."
Matting can be prevented by daily brushing with a slicker brush and comb using the line brushing technique. You can find demonstrations online or just ask and I can show you the best method for your dog.
When a dogs coat becomes matted it pulls on the dogs skin causing red, sore or irritated skin and can hide/ cause skin issues that don't become apparent until the dog has been clipped off, Pawsome Pooches Evesham will accept no responsibility for this and will advise that veterinary treatment is sought.
Clipping off a matted coat can take longer and causes additional wear and tear on our equipment so a matting fee will be applied but this will be discussed at the pre-groom check.
De-matting increases the risk of injury including cuts and grazes and skin irritations caused by the shortness of the clipper blades used. There is also a possibility of haematomas to form where tight matting will have caused the blood vessels to contract and the releasing of the matting can cause blood to rush back into the areas and the blood vessels to burst forming a haematoma. We will always do our best to reduce the risk of these forming but in the event they occur veterinary treatment will need to be sought. In addition you may see behavioural changes such as head shaking, excessive scratching, licking and scooting.

7. Behavioural Charges
Aggression
Owners have the obligation to inform us of any known behavioural traits towards people or other dogs or have been turned away from other groomers. Failure to do so will result in the groom being terminated and full payment will be required.
Nervous/ Anxious dogs
Although Pawsome Pooches Evesham is able to cater for the needs of these dogs, the owner is required to tell us of such behavioural traits so that the groom can be modified to match the dog and make the grooming experience less stressful.

Behavioural charges will be decided by Pawsome Pooches Evesham depending on the severity of the behaviour and time, skill and equipment required to groom the dog. If your dog should bite you agree to be responsible for all related medical bills, loss of earnings and equipment damage. We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe your dog may be a danger to itself or those with in the salon and in the event that groom has to be stopped then the full service fee will be required.

8. Time Keeping
Pawsome Pooches Evesham works to a strict time schedule which allows me to work one on one with clients and ample time to get the best results for your dog, we expect you to be prompt to your appointment and collection time to avoid cross over of clients where possible. If you are more than 15 minutes late we reserve the right to refuse your groom on welfare grounds as rushing a groom can result in undue stress and injury. If you are more than 15 minutes late collecting your dog then a £10 late fee will be incurred and there after a further £5 per 15 minutes will be added.

9. Cancellations
We require 48hrs notice of a change of appointment or cancellation, if this is not adhered to then for the first time a 50% charge of the missed groom price will be required before another booking can be made. If multiple grooms have been missed then 100% of the missed groom price will be required before rebooking.
